Lace Wigs: Replacement For Natural Hair

Lace front wigs have become one of the latest hair trends today. These wigs are considered as a non-surgical hair replacement because it can conceal baldness, which is great for people who suffer from alopecia. Lace front wigs are made from human hair and are carefully hand tied into a sheer lace base to obtain that natural look. It looks very natural and subtle that only a stylist could detect the difference from natural hair. It can also be worn for several weeks without having to remove it.

Applying lace front wigs, like other crafts, needs tips from a pro. The first thing that you have to do is to find your natural hairline and free the edges of your hair from any chemicals or oil as this will weaken the wig's adhesives. Refrain from using cotton products when cleaning your hair line, otherwise the adhesives will not stick. When it comes to adhesives, people usually choose between glue and tape. Spirit gum, a popular option of wig glue, is the strongest type and usually used in theater productions. Tape adhesives are transparent and it blends with the wig, hence, these are commonly sold by human hair extension retailers.

After choosing your desired adhesive, you have to place it on the perimeter of your head to secure the fit of your wig. For a span of ten seconds, press the wig on your scalp before you proceed to the next. Finally, hold down the edges of the wig by using a bandana or scarf.
